The City of Galveston is under a coastal flood watch from now until at least Sunday because of #HurricaneBeryl. Tides up to 4 feet are probable, which will cause tidal flooding in low-lying areas of the island and particularly on the West End.

The City of Galveston is opening a cooling center at the McGuire Dent Recreation Center, and it will be open today from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be lane closures on the two outside lanes of Broadway between 51st and 53rd streets tonight beginning at 8 p.m. to repair the asphalt, according to TXDOT. Work will be completed by tomorrow morning. Please follow all traffic signage.
