The Pelican Island Bridge, owned by the Galveston County Navigation District, will be closed on Thursday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the state’s transportation agency performs an inspection of the roadway.

Most city services will resume Tuesday, July 9. City Hall and the Public Works buildings will be open. Both recreation centers, as well as the Lasker Park pool, will remain closed Tuesday.

The City of Galveston is opening a cooling center at the McGuire Dent Recreation Center, and it will be open today from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be lane closures on the two outside lanes of Broadway between 51st and 53rd streets tonight beginning at 8 p.m. to repair the asphalt, according to TXDOT. Work will be completed by tomorrow morning. Please follow all traffic signage.
