City Council deliberations on the Proposed FY 2026 Budget continues tonight (May 5) at 8 p.m. This is the second public hearing on the Budget & CIP. Residents are encouraged to become involved in the budget process by addressing their comments to Council at the public hearings.

A new outdoor exercise space has been added at Centennial Park, next to City Hall. Stop by and try out the equipment!

The Wiggle & Giggle Fitness Program is a great way for young kids to stay active & have fun! This week’s theme "Little Athletes" focuses on basic skills like running, jumping, & throwing in a playful, non-competitive environment. Classes are Tuesdays from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Gym.

Hydrant flushing is happening in Meadowbrook (now - 5/7), Victoria Heights, Race Track Road Townhomes, Bowie Forest, and Idlewild (May 8 & 9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This routine maintenance keeps the water system running smoothly, but may cause temporary discoloration.

MDSHA will soon be starting pavement improvement projects on 197 (Collington Road) between Evergreen Parkway and US 50. The repairs should wrap up around June. Drivers can expect single-lane closures: weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and overnights, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
