At Tuesday's City Council meeting, Arlington Mayor Jim Ross presented a special proclamation, declaring April as Autism Awareness Month in the City of Arlington, and emphasizing the important contributions of our residents with autism.

Bowen UPDATE: One suspect is in custody.

We are currently in the process of releasing students and staff inside Bowie HS from their classrooms. All of them will be bussed to the AISD reunification center.

Bowen UPDATE: The shooting occurred outside the school building.

One victim was transported to the hospital.

Officers remain on scene and are continuing protective sweeps of the area.

UPDATE: 

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting incident Bowen High School. Parents can reunite with students at 1001 E Division St at the AISD Athletics and Aquatics Center. 

Please avoid the area.

Bowie High School has been placed on lockdown while the Arlington, TX Police responds to an incident outside of the school.
