A: Networking was absolutely critical. Finding a position I am happy in has been mainly been based on personal connections.

A: Persistence and being willing to get in front of people in person worked for me. Online applications get lost, meetings are memorable.

Q: Do you guys recommend finding experience in larger companies or smaller start-ups with more exposure?

A: I've personally always favored smaller companies as I feel I can make a larger impact and not got lost within larger numbers.

A: I personally head to companies that I feel passionate about. ATM that happens to be a large company. I can still express that passion.

A: Recognition can be difficult in large companies but there is structure, stability, security and obviously a great name on your resume.
