I highly recommend students apply to AEASP. Even serving as a teaching fellow was a formative experience in my economics education. The people involved in AEASP are simply the best.

#EconTwitter Any econ JMCs working on insurance topics (not just health insurance!) want feedback on their JMPs? I am assigning working papers for a referee report assignment in my PhD class & would be happy to use JMPs & pass along (my curated) feedback from the class & me!

Grace is a wonderful person with a big heart. She is also a competent researcher and coworker. Search committees, she would be an excellent hire.

Thanks Jennifer Doleac for highlighting my work. There are so many talented individuals on the market this year, and I hope we all land what we're looking for.

Hi everyone (and thank you Jen!), I'm on the job market. I'm an applied microeconomist whose research spans the economics of crime, labor econ, and public policy. I study how government decisions affect vulnerable populations' economic, health, and incarceration outcomes. 1/6

Do not demean your students. Do not insult them or their work. Do not comment on their appearance or your negative opinions of their intelligence. Do not speculate on whether or not they should be an economist. I *CANNOT* believe this needs to be said.

Economics: A discipline that states that there are systemic barriers to entry while continuing to construct and reinforce systemic barriers to entry.

Even though it’s off-season, I’m on the market now and likely will be in the fall as well. If you know someone looking for a macroeconomist, don’t hesitate to reach out! jamesdean595.github.io/files/CV.pdf

Why are economists so averse to giving positive comments in addition to suggested changes on drafts/presentations? Surely not everything sucks and it costs v little

We hope these findings will be useful for policymakers to understand how to best spend public money. Closing spending gaps between low- and high-SES districts AND directing spending on high-impact categories may close up to 25% of the gap in test scores between these districts.
