A visit from a firefighter! We enjoyed hearing about the ways in which firefighters help us and how putting fires out is only one of the many things they do. The children listened so well and asked some very good questions. 👍🏼

A lovely way to end half term making our Autumn leaf cinnamon biscuits. We had lots of fun making them & using so many new words...ingredients, recipe, teaspoon, tablespoon, essence, combine etc. We were excited to see them turn from a soft dough to a crunchy biscuit.🍁

We are enjoying our new focus text...Owl Babies. We discussed the characters, illustrated them & written Sarah, Percy, Bill & mum name labels using some of our new phonic sounds. We retold the story in the small world & also in PE, swooping & gliding through the trees.

Exploring rectangles in maths. A rectangle has 4 corners, 2 long sides & 2 short sides. We also learnt that squares belong to the rectangle family & are a special kind of rectangle that have 4 corners & 4 equal sides. We had fun taking photos of rectangles around our classroom.

A final phonics & writing blast before Christmas. We had to write a super sentence. We got a tick for using a capital letter, a tick for a full stop, a tick for finger spaces & a tick if it was neat. Who got 4 ticks? Great phonics and writing class 1. You make me proud everyday👏🏼

I’ve seen some games of rugby over my time but that one today between Fylde Rugby and Sedgley Park Tigers goes straight to the top I think. Such a good game of rugby with a draw the more than fair result in the end. @SportJournUclan
