The #Steelers and TE Pat Freiermuth agreed to terms on a four-year, $48.4 million contract extension, per Athletes First. Freiermuth is still only 25 and now locked up in Pittsburgh for the long haul.

AAV of $12.1 per puts Freiermuth 9th on current TE list. Just ahead of Dalton Schultz and just behind Cole Kmet.

I sure hope Arthur Smith has big plans for Freiermuth, and thinks there's a ton of potential there that Canada left on the table. I don't really see it. I see about a league-average tight end. He's not getting paid like one.

Freiermuth isn't better than Mark Andrews. Is he even better than Isaiah Likely? I would say nah.

I'm a Justin Fields skeptic but it should be obvious, regardless of what side of that debate you're on, that the best-case scenario for the Steelers' QB situation is that he plays Sunday, balls out, and never relinquishes the job.
