The ghost is a symptom of living. We inhabit a continuity of phantom witnessing, spirit appeasement. To experience a ghost is to touch hands with the past, for common history is intrinsically haunted. - C. Josiffe

“Now then madam, in your own time, have a good look… and let us know which one of this lot nicked your walnuts”

“I’m not happy about this, guv; couldn’t you’ve stuck Dave the pigeon in it instead? He owes us”

Budget reenactment of the Battle of Worcester (3 Sep 1651). Sadly I didn’t have enough figurines, so they had to multi-task: OWLS: Oliver Cromwell; Fleetwood; Lambert & Major Mercer. SQUIRREL: Charles II; HEDGEHOG: the Earls of Derby, Shrewsbury, Cleveland; Massey & Lord Newark.

Redevelopment is always a stirrer of spirits. Barn repurposed as luxury home, farm outbuildings made garage for Triumph Spitfire – these are sticks to poke and provoke phantoms. As ghost, I wouldn't want to share my old killing shed with 1296 cc's of noisy pollution.– C. Josiffe

Anyone recall an Irish song on pub jukeboxes in the 1980s, a tribute to Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins? Youtube is unexpectedly letting me down. Lyrics s/thing like: 'Let's drink a health to Alex Higgins / He is our pride & joy / He is the people's champion & a good oul Belfast boy'
