My takeaways: Dwyer got his guys, all 3 1st-rounders were the ones he wanted. Veitch ready to embrace pressure of playing at home. GM compared Norman's skating ability to Lane Hutson, Quinn Hughes (!) MacLean working hard to make teams regret not taking him 1st overall.

Absolutely thrilled to be able to write this piece about Seth taking the next step in his journey. He joined me in the booth for a few Growler games and it won't be long until he's calling games in the NHL. Can't wait to tune in.

The Newfoundland Regiment kicked off a new era of hockey in St. John's last night. I caught up with NL rookies Ben Veitch, Quinn Norman and their families to talk about their Q debuts and the culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice.

Veitch celebrated his 16th birthday a little early with his first QMJHL goal on Sunday against Baie-Comeau. In his haste to celebrate with his family, he forgot the puck in his locker.
