In Nov 2021 we brought together 38 government and protected area staff from across the snow leopard habitat in Mongolia to discuss how to address unusual encounters with snow leopards. #EncounterUncia

Participants reported that snow leopards are sometimes encountered visiting corrals, travelling across the steppe or found dead. They also shared that these workshops are important to discuss how to manage such encounters. #EncounterUncia

We are building on this effort by creating materials for herder families and authorities with recommendations on how to manage snow leopard encounters. #EncounterUncia
