Great questions at #Ulearn22 activator sessions. How can we ensure Aotearoa NZ Histories isn't presented from a dominant bias when there are still many misunderstandings around our bicultural relationships? How can we ensure it is presented in a mana-enhancing way? #nzhistory

Dr Nēpia Mahuika jumping straight in - is the new curriculum transformational? Is it decolonial? Is it Māori? Or is it the same song with a different tune? For me, SocCon showed schools/teachers/departments have such different takes on this = huge impact on ākonga #uLearn22

Such an incredible wero for us - tied in so well with the mahi in my paper on Kaupapa Māori Research and Culturally Responsive Research Methodologies. Despite Western academia holding itself as the one truth, the knowledge it upholds has been storied by white men (mainly).
