One of the best lessons I have learned in therapy is that someone else’s behaviour, emotions, and actions are not my responsibility. It was so harmful to believe that I am responsible for everything everyone else is experiencing

It is f*cking BRAVE to get up every single day and choose LIFE, when everything in your brain is telling you that you’re better off not alive

Normalise asking people (including children) before you hug them. If they say no, then don't do it. It's not anyone's right to have a hug, handshake, or any other form of body contact.

stop letting people consume you. they didn’t call? go to sleep. they didn’t message you? put your phone down and have a better day. they left you on read? delete the conversation. they didn’t make an effort? match their energy. never let your happiness depend on anyone

Things people with anxiety do that you may think is “rude”: •Cancelling plans •Avoiding phone calls •Being quiet in group discussions •Leaving social gathering early •Avoiding eye contact •Not responding to text messages •Spending time on their phone to distract themselves

Taking a little break from social media for a while (seems like I have done for months now) but I will be back in due course ❤️

8 years ago today, I tried taking my own life. I genuinely believed that this world did not need me in it. I thought at 16 years old that my world had stopped spinning. 8 years on and I LOVE being alive. Hold on, I’m proof it gets better ♥️

Suicidal thoughts aren’t always I want to die. They’re also.. I feel trapped. I need a way out. I am a burden. What’s the point in life? I need to escape my thoughts. Nothing will ever get better. I see no future. I can’t bare this pain anymore. Am worthless. #SuicideAwareness

Staying alive when everything in your brain is telling you to give up and that you’re not needed in this world, takes a strength some will never understand. So if you won that war with your mind today - or any day - I’m proud of you. This world is better off with you here.
