We celebrated a graduate of the “Chiltern Brewniversity” last night!

We awarded him his brewing coat (& a rather special beer!) to mark his achievement at our Kings Head Aylesbury.

Our modern early-summer Light English Ale. Gold, 3.4% brewed to celebrate 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Bramling Cross hops.

Aroma is of subtle spice, almost lemony character of Bramling Cross. Intriguingly, it evokes blackcurrants in taste.

This is Tom & his dogs! He farms the fields opposite us.

He collects some of our spent grain (malt we’ve brewed with) to feed to his sheep. It still has plenty of nutrients even after a brew day!

Grown, brewed with, then used, all in about 10 miles. Beautifully sustainable!

We’re brewing our next seasonal beer: Hop, Spring, Jump!

Our brewer Ally is setting then checking sparge flow (rinsing the malt w/ hot, fresh water to extract as much goodness as possible from the Bucks Grown Barley).
.
It’ll be fermenting by end of day; ready in a week or so!

A little #bts , taken a week or so ago. If you’ve been to us, you may remember the wonderful Ash tree in the car park? Every so often it needs a little TLC; this year it was time again.

Tree surgeons came in & trimmed it back. It’s better, healthier & neater!
