#FieldFriday, Another successful Graduation for 30 mothers in our Live, Learn & Earn Program in Kenya’s Kibera vulnerable & underserved settlement after going through a one-year program.

Over the past couple of days, we’ve had impactful interactions with parents from 6 schools in Kenya’s Migori County in our efforts to eradicate FGM.

#FieldFriday, This week we’ve gathered members of the community in Kenya’s Makueni County, trained them on kitchen gardens and handed them gunny bags and seedlings to start smart farming for domestic use.

#FieldFriday, We’re in pursuit to get Oloompaluani Community clean water for domestic use. It’s a sad reality that a number of regions in Kenya are still struggling to get clean water.

#FieldFriday, Who would have thought that the Kenya Maasai Community well known for their pastoralist nature would make good farmers! We advised them to try our kitchen garden project. The results are impressive.

#FieldFriday, We have successfully completed our first project in Kenya’s Kilifi County; two permanent classrooms well equipped with desks and staff furniture, two separate toilet blocks for boys and girls, and two water tanks fitted with tank bases and gutters.

#FieldFriday, It’s snaps and claps as 34 members of our Live Learn & Earn Program in Kenya’s Mukuru informal settlement graduate after a successful year of learning and engaging. This represents another 34 families empowered to take care of their children.

#FieldFriday, After 15 years, we’ve restored the water pipeline for Oloompaluani Community. Now Oloompaluani School, the community and even its neighbouring community; Oloigeruno, have access to clean water for home use and their livestock.

#FieldFriday, A relief for Makutano School in Kenya’s Makueni County as they receive water tanks well fitted with gutters for rain water harvesting. Access to safe water and sanitation changes so much in a school.

#FieldFriday, Sometimes it’s the little things that count. See the lavatory at Mwanganga Primary School in Kilifi; Kenya before, and just one of the two toilet blocks that ChildsLife constructed in less than six months after visiting the school.

It was pomp & glory as 110 Students from ChildsLife Vocational Training Centre in Kibera graduated after months of hard work & study in Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy, Catering & Accommodation, Electrical Installation, Tailoring & Dressmaking and Computer Skills.
