"For the first time ever, [Child Law Project has] seen cases of young children for whom no foster carer is available; very young children, as young as four years, being placed in residential care; and a ‘waiting list’ for admission to special care. irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4150…

Great to be at launch of Child Law Project report, Falling Through the Cracks. Vitally important piece of work with exceptionally insightful observations about issues within child care proceedings and recommendations about how to make improvements in the future.

Reading material for the train journey home. Congratulations to all at Child Law Project on the launch of this report. Let's hope the goodwill and commitment to children so evident in the room tonight translates into badly-needed concrere actions.

It was a privilege to launch the latest Child Law Project report, #FallingThroughTheCracks, last night The Bar of Ireland. Ailbhe Conneely RTÉ News covered the launch for the Six One News, speaking to Maria Corbett, Judge Paul Kelly & me. Carol Coulter @Noeline_B

Many thanks Conor O'Mahony for your steadfast support of our work & for giving so generously of your & expertise time to chair our Research Advisory Group. UCC School of Law Thanks also to RAG member Kenneth Burns @UCCsocialwork

Thanks. One of the bright sparks featured in our #FallingThroughTheCracks report is the work of Barnardos Ireland running a pilot national project to support parents whose children are in care (funded by Tusla - Child and Family Agency)

Great insight into problems but very positive reform proposals and roadmap to a better system in Child Law Project report too- need for immediate short term National Plan on Alternative Care, involve more civil society groups in forums, court reforms incl Drug courts , family law

"The [Child Law Project] authors say that what they saw amounts to a failure by the State to meet its constitutional and human rights obligations toward children. They warn the State is exposing itself to legal challenges as a consequence." irishtimes.com/opinion/editor…

IFCA is deeply concerned by the findings in the recent Child Law Project 2024 report which highlights critical gaps in Ireland’s child protection & welfare system. The report paints a troubling picture of how vulnerable children particularly those navigating complex 1/2
