Post 2 of 2. While I love visiting during National Police Week each May, I also enjoy these quiet times when the Memorial is more serene. I am honored to have had that opportunity just last week while attending a conference for #TheIACP. #NobleProfession #NLEOMF

This year, I had the opportunity to visit the museum again, and witnessed my uniform on display alongside other International Association of Chiefs of Police President’s uniforms and memorabilia. What an honor! Post 2 of 4

Since my agency earned the #TrustBuildingCampaign award last October after my initial visit and uniform presentation, I added the TRUST pin to my uniform during this recent visit. Post 3 of 4

My hope is that, among the thousands of visitors to the museum each year, it will be a conversation starter where trust in policing can be discussed, debated, learned, and practiced among police professionals across the globe. #Honored #ShapingTheFutureOfThePolicingProfession

One of the great parts of the The IACP Conference is meeting with friends who have a collective focus on improving the profession. It’s not uncommon that challenge coins become a part of those relationships, and it’s wonderful to add these to my collection!

After being appointed in 2024 for a term that began January, 2025, I attended my first #CALEA Meeting as a Commissioner earlier this month in Garden Grove, CA. It is such an honor to serve in this role!

Last week the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Unit hosted a 50th Anniversary celebration. SWAT members from past and present came together for a great time of food, fellowship, and friendship, meeting new members and reconnecting with partners from years past.

It’s always a great day to visit with my good friend Paul Butler, but when he comes to present to your team about excellence in leadership and weaves in his stories, wisdom, and wit, it’s an AWESOME day!

Recently I had the opportunity to attend and present The IACP #TrustBuildingCampaign during the SCSA summer conference in Myrtle Beach. It was a great opportunity to engage the Sheriffs and their staff to provide meaningful ways to enhance trust in their communities.

I always appreciate and enjoy the opportunity to head back to the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA to engage the students and represent the The IACP. The last time I walked across this stage was when I graduated from FBINAA, Inc. Session #248 in 2013!
