These officers from Tarragona, Spain, are in the US visiting police departments, and I was excited to welcome them to Dallas Police Dept. They visited the Mounted and K9 units and rode out with patrol officers and the Fugitive Unit.

These officers went above and beyond to get this family the help they needed. I’m proud to see them show the same compassion for people that I felt when I first put on a badge all those years ago!

When Officer Burks was killed and Senior Corporals David and Farmer were seriously wounded, I immediately joined our Omega Psi Phi brothers in praying for these officers. Senior Corporal David embodies the traits of the RISE Award, and I'm proud to be her Chief.

Today, Recruit Class #408 kicked off, and I’m proud to welcome 75 new recruits. We crushed this year’s hiring goal and made history—this is the second largest class in Dallas PD history with the second most female recruits ever!

It's opening day at the State Fair of Texas! I had a great time taking in all the sights, sounds, and flavors of the fair. I wore my cowboy hat and even enjoyed a corn dog. Grateful to share the experience alongside DFR Chief Ball and represent our city at this great tradition.
