On Patriot Day, we honor the lives lost to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. May we never forget their courage and sacrifice on this National Day of Service and Remembrance.

The Jesse Brown Veteran Affairs Medical Center held a 9/11 memorial event in the medical center’s Prescription Room. The event was held to pay homage and remember the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil and the lives lost that day.

Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center honored 15 Veterans July 26 during an End of World War II event. World War II officially ended Sept. 2, 1945 with the unconditional surrender of Germany in the Pacific. JBVAMC also honored three centenarians with a certificate.

On July 30, Lakeside Community Based Outpatient Clinic's staff celebrated Llody Altschul's 103rd birthday. Altschul served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Dec. 14, 1942 to May 30, 1946 as an infantryman.
