Station Manager Carl Nevitt from our International Search and Rescue (ISAR) team has travelled to Malawi as part of a 27-strong UK ISAR to help save lives in the aftermath of the devastating cyclone which hit the country last week.

Today, #UKISAR and local aid teams helped evacuate and ensure the safety of 123 individuals, contributing to a total of 290 rescued. Our #UKISAR medical team provided treatment to male who sustained injuries due to the floods #rescue #Malawi 🧡

Despite the power outage, the #UKISAR team is preparing for tomorrow's rescue operations, holding onto #hope and focusing on #searchandrescues 🧡

This month, members of our team have been involved in a number of training events. 2 members attended a FREC3 trauma course put on by West Midlands Fire Service Whilst another 2 members attended the medium team exercise in Singapore with Singapore Civil Defence Force UK ISAR

SM Paul Rostance and FF Ian Wilson are with the UK ISAR in Morocco. They sent us this video they filmed as they were en route to their base of operations in the Atlas Mountains where the team treated injured people and searched for survivors in collapsed buildings.

Today we have been LFRS STC completing breaking & breaching training in preparation for potential deployments & the upcoming reclassification. One of the disciplines our new recruits into the team will be expected to learn following our recruitment campaign currently taking place

3 members of our team gave up their time to deploy on this exercise and worked tirelessly to help the team achieve its aim. 1 of our members also helped assist with the set up of the exercise prior to the arrival of the team.

FF Daz Tennant, FF Ian Wilson & FF Daz Roberts took part in the IER Reclassification for UK ISAR, Their efforts help the team become the best in the world following a gruelling 36 hour exercise in wet and freezing conditions in Switzerland. #UKISAR #INSARAG #Search&Rescue
