On Juneteenth we remember the horror of the institution of slavery and the impacts that it has had on this nation, and its people. I am proud that we recently passed the NYS Community Commission on Reparations Remedies to study the effects of slavery on present day society in NY.

This forever stamp is a beautiful tribute to Congressman John Lewis' enduring legacy. A giant amongst men, a hero to us all, we honor him by marching forward and continuing the fight to protect and strengthen our democracy.
