We are having a great time at Electromagnetic Field. Keep your eyes peeled - we are being a sneaky bunch and covertly "pegging" what seems like half the festival attendees 👀 Ryan was challenged to find and peg Jonty Wareing ⍼... Mission accomplished.

Where can you find giant Pac-Man, 3D printing of ducks, textile upcycling and so much more? Happy 10th anniversary to the folks at Cheltenham Hackspace! They’ve helped loads of local people to make, learn, create and share.

This week our metalworking room-lead has been putting the milling attachment for the Emco lathe through its paces. With all the required tools being close to hand, nothing *should* ever get lost. The first chips are looking good, so inductions for members will be available soon.

Last night one of our members ran part 1 of a green wood spoon carving workshop. We learnt proper knife technique and started carving our spoons to rough shape. Next week, we'll continue with carving out the bowl part. A great time making shavings, and not a single injury 🙌

Day one of our tidy-up weekend has seen great inroads into organising and clearing the space. Lots more to do, but a great job done by our volunteers today!

Thanks to all of our volunteers for our tidy-up weekend! Day 2 was just as productive as day 1, though we didn't get as many photos.

Now that we have a metal lathe and mill, we can make parts for the lathe and mill. This week one of our metalworking leads had been pushing the machine's limits with stainless steel, making a replacement plunger for the lathe tool post

Last week one of our members took a broken coffee table and made a new base from their neighbour's old front door. Lovely timber that would have otherwise gone to landfill.
