4th graders explored form, texture, & the work of Judith Scott, an artist with Down syndrome known for her unique sculptures. They asked questions like “What is art?” & “Does it have to be beautiful?” then created their own with paper, magazines, pipe cleaners, tape, & yarn.

Last week, the Buffalo Sabres visited Union East to teach students three hockey skills—passing, stick handling, and shooting! Every student scored a free Sabres t-shirt and a ticket to any game with the purchase of one ticket.
