Here’s a tip for patients in the Emergency Department. It’s okay to ask for food, snacks, drinks, or even blankets as long as you’re medically cleared to eat/ drink. Please don’t starve yourself for hours on end without even a sip of water! #MedTwitter #emergencymedicine

Had my last shift as a 4th year Med student in the same ED that I did my first shift as a 3rd year medical student and fell in love with Emergency Medicine. I can’t believe that next time I’m in the ED, I’ll be the Doctor 🥺 Still feels surreal. #EMBound #MedTwitter #firstgen

The Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson is a destructive setback for ob-gyns and patients. However, we’ll continue with unwavering resolve to support all people who struggle against interference with the patient–physician relationship.

Yesterday I learned that the program I’ve been doing a SubI at doesn’t consider DOs for interviews. Today the M2s on the service thanked me for teaching them, answering all their questions, and always being approachable. They reminded me what it’s all about. Thankful 🫶🏼

I thought coming home after finally finishing the USMLE step series would be such a victorious moment. Instead I’m replaying the moment where my examiner told me he “did not like my attitude” and proceeded to turn off my computer MID-EXAM.

#MedTwitter it’s so disheartening seeing someone in Medicine openly disregard and completely degrade a woman of color. Im sorry you had to experience this Tamia Potter and then when you vocalized it, to be bullied and demeaned for speaking out is completely unacceptable

Love that residency programs have #matched so many URMs but keep in mind that matching isn’t everything, we need to retain & create conducive envts where residents can thrive, take care of their mental health, learn, graduate and be avenues for more URMs #Match2023 #residency

I was 3 years into being an attending physician when I found I was unhappy. I told myself once I…. …Pay off my loans …Buy a bigger house …Get promoted THAT is when I’ll be happy. Except I’d get there, and the happiness was fleeting. This is called an Arrival Fallacy 1/

If you come to the ER and you wait a long time (1-10+ hours) and you are wondering if we’re sorry, we are. Also none of the people one might complain to, from the registration clerk, the tech taking vital signs, the nurses, the docs or APPs, can solve the delay…
