#OTD in 1945 the Irish Women Workers’ Union began the Laundry Strike. These women went on strike to win two weeks annual paid holidays. After 14 weeks on the picket line the women won that right for all workers. A right we all still enjoy today. 📸 Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU)
