Excited to welcome Chase Ruff to Carri Glide-Hurst and UW-Madison Department of Medical Physics! We are lucky to have him join us from University of South Florida after he gained great experience at MD Anderson Cancer Center via an American Association of Physicists in Medicine summer undergrad fellowship. We gave him a warm Wiscy welcome over some cheese curds! 😂🤣💫
Welcome Chase Ruff!! We are lucky to have you! #OnWisconsin
Delayed Carri Glide-Hurst holiday outing to celebrate the start of a new year! Really fortunate to work with this team of bright UW-Madison Department of Medical Physics & UW-Madison Computer Sciences trainees!! #OnWisconsin *missed a pic of our cheese curds but found one in my coffee shot 😂🤣
💥 So excited about Carri Glide-Hurst American Association of Physicists in Medicine #AAPM2023 abstracts! 🥇Big congrats to 1st time submitters Chase Ruff Ken Gregg & Eric Qiu + Nicholas Summerfield Yuhao Yan 👍 Strong science, long weekends, & v58_final_cgh edits! 🤣 ❤️ collab w/lab alum Claudia R. Fun Friday night in Carri Glide-Hurst celebrating Ken Gregg residency match & having thematic “Heart Attack” 🫀pizza from Glass Nickel Pizza! (Also pretending we are at the southernmost point in US—who knows where?!) #MedPhys #RadOnc
Beautiful evening at the Wisconsin Union celebrating our latest UW Department of Human Oncology #MedPhys DABR Jennie Crosby, PhD! 👏 👏 Congrats Jennie!!
Hey ISMRM #MRI experts! The Carri Glide-Hurst at UW–Madison (UW Department of Human Oncology + UW-Madison Department of Medical Physics) is looking for a postdoc with expertise in Siemens #MRI pulse programming! Research centered on low-field MR-linacs for radiation therapy. DM me for details! #ISMRM2023

My favorite event of the #AAPM2023 American Association of Physicists in Medicine meeting! Congrats to all of our Early Career Investigators including 2 trainees from UW-Madison Department of Medical Physics! 👏 👏 Chase Ruff from Carri Glide-Hurst at UW Department of Human Oncology shared our latest 5DMRI work in collab with Oliver Wieben & Kevin M. Johnson 🧲 🫀
So proud of Carri Glide-Hurst team members sharing their science at #AAPM2023 and growing 🌱 their #MedPhys community!
Special thanks to Best Medical & American Association of Physicists in Medicine for continuing to support the AAPM BEST Award (reg/stipend!) for our rising stars at #AAPM2023💫! Fun fact: I got this award in 2006 and now a trainee in my lab Chase Ruff received it! 👏 👏
Congrats to our NCC American Association of Physicists in Medicine chapter Early Career Investigators who gave outstanding talks on everything from FLASH to AI, Brachy to Cherenkov! Great showing from UW-Madison Department of Medical Physics UW Department of Human Oncology & University of Minnesota 🏆 Big winners Alex Niver (3), Grace Hutchinson (2) & Autumn Walter, PhD (1)!
Great showing at the NCC American Association of Physicists in Medicine chapter meetings from our UW Department of Human Oncology trainees including Carri Glide-Hurst & our #MedPhys Residents!! 👍👍
Ain’t no party like a Friday night #MedPhys party! Getting the 🧲 time when we can for Carri Glide-Hurst!
🧲 New science from Jennie Crosby, PhD + Carri Glide-Hurst Chase Ruff & Ken Gregg in collab w/MEDSCINT Jonathan Turcotte characterizing fun multi-point scint detectors in the ViewRay! Watch this space for more ways to use small, flexible detectors for real-time readout! aapm.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/mp…
Thoughtful work by Stephen Chun, Jeff Bradley, MD and NRG Oncology on the importance of radiation dose compactness, cardiac and lung sparing approaches to improve outcome in unresectable locally advanced #NSCLC. Minimizing 🫁 V20 Gy matters, minimizing ❤️ V40 Gy matters (20-60 Gy).
Congrats to Nicholas Summerfield for his first 1st author paper in IJROBP - The Red Journal! Along w/collabs Eric Morris Simeng Zhu Wayne State University, we optimized nnUNET w/self distillation for rapid & reliable cardiac substructure segmentation for #MRlinac! O/A for 50 days!👇 authors.elsevier.com/a/1jOcw1Hx52Jv…
