🌟 Brand new fiction by Charlotte Tierney over at With Bite! 🌟 ‘I live with a spider. He sits next to the wood-burning stove in the living room. In my favourite vintage armchair. On a patchwork quilt that took me one winter and six old tea-dresses to make.’

In ‘Last Tuesday - In the North of England’ Peter Brook’s title is surprisingly vague about the location of the painting, in the absence of any readily recognisable landmarks leaving us to ponder where it might be. Presumably not the Pennines! (Sold by Bonhams in 2012)

‘Looking at Silence’, an interesting concept, is a painting with an almost spiritual feel to it. Peter Brook, standing motionless with Shep in a gap in the wall, is clearly moved by the vast empty landscape before him, the mist moving down the valley adding to the atmosphere.

We caught up with With Bite alum Charlotte Tierney about her excellent debut novel, The Cat Bride! Charlotte spoke to us about writing long versus short fiction, the emotional journey of publishing and who she'd have at her dream literary party.

Sudden heavy downpours and hail this afternoon, but not quite as bad as ‘Blizzard Conditions on the Pennines by an Abandoned Farm - Now for Sale’ with Peter Brook and Shep struggling up the hillside and the broken power line flapping in the wind. (Sold at Hartleys in 2019)
