#Zinfest Bedrock, just mentioned by Chuck Heyward, is owned by Morgan Peterson, son of Joel Peterson, the creator of Ravenswood.

#Zinfest ALERT !! Alder Yarrow, writer of Vinography, the great and popular blog, came by and recommends the new wines at Bucklin

#Zinfest For those not here today--if you grew wary of the Zin festival at Fort Mason, you have missed something special in this new venue.

Just completed Paso Robles Cab tasting trip. Cabs getting more better each year. Liked Dauo, Adelaide, The Farm, Jada, Parrish, Red Soles.

The debate re less known varieties reminds me that we lost Chenin Blanc here decades ago. Just tasted a good one: Lone Madrone from Paso.

Drowning in Pinot Noir. So many folks now making multiple bottles. My tasting table runneth over. It's OK. I never tire of a well-made PN.

My new rule on corkage fees. No higher than a restaurant's profit on its cheapest wine. That would be about $65 for The French Laundry.

Charles Olken (@charlieolken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

# corkage # wine I object to the $150 fee at French Laundry. My new rule for corkage is rational and measurable. See cgcw.com

Hope I am wrong. BUT CH 5 just showed a damaged winery that looks to be Trefethen's historic winery. BR Cohn reports losing 50% of inventory

Charles Olken (@charlieolken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Quick visit to Sonoma town to see about daughter's house there shows no damage. Wineries along the road from Sears Point all open.

Barrel rooms/tanks took big hits in past quakes. That seems so in Napa et al today. But, sad sight at Trefethen. Historic winery badly hurt.

Charles Olken (@charlieolken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wine barrels can kill. The last two quakes hit empty wineries. We would be mourning people, not oak. Ask the Wine Institute to act now.

#feeltheberk I have known Legal since it was a fish store in Inman Sq, and I have been a fan. No longer until the Hillary attack is down
