Congratulations to our amazing Dr Lillina Vignola for her successful thesis defence yesterday!
More good news from the lab! Felicitations to the fabulous Risha Amarsi who successfully passed her PhD viva last night.
We have two new faculty opportunities at QMUL, part of a £3.2M investment by Barts Charity to develop genomic and epigenomic liquid biopsy analyses for diagnostics and research applications. More details here: qmulepigenetics.com/jobs Please RT abundantly
We are really pleased to share our new paper where we show that Liver X receptor signalling in the mother is a key event in the transport of essential long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids to the fetus. With Risha Amarsi Dr Samuel Furse Albert Koulman nature.com/articles/s4146…
Have you heard of ‘pregnancy brain’? Recent research shows that changes in the brain with #pregnancy correlate with successful bonding to the infant! See: nature.com/articles/d4158… Created with support from Cambridge University Public Engagement and British Society for Immunology 🙏🏻 #whum #womenshealth
Looking for a PhD? Interested in epigenetics, imprinting and transposons? Come join the Jennifer Frost and RJ Oakey labs for our project in the 2025 KCL MRC DTP scheme, applications are now open! Link to project: kcl-mrcdtp.com/project/the-ro… King's College London Media Research Center #MRCDTP25
PhD position open in my lab The Francis Crick Institute - more info here: crick.ac.uk/careers-study/…
Our latest preprint. @L_Lampe, clarenewell and colleagues figured out how metamorphosing #Drosophila avoid drying out. The larva makes a lipid barrier of hyper-long hydrocarbons (>C27 and longer) and stores it in the fat body until needed by the pupa. tinyurl.com/3keukxsz
