This is 14/15 in the Run N Shoot

One essential coaching point on the smash is work vertical until the corner steps up. If the corner continues to bail then the smash route will continue to work vertical. Ball will be out to the short route OR QB will go backside but this will open up others.

Oftentimes when Coaches don’t understand something, like the Run N Shoot, they dismiss it as too complicated OR they say you have to have dudes to do it. A lazy mentality in my opinion.

Another reason why the Run N Shoot is great. The half roll will help your vision.

How do you teach your receivers to run a dig? What depth? Speed cut or breakdown? What if it’s press man?

Switch is always open!

It’s seems like there’s a lot of negativity towards throwing the football these days. “Run the damn ball” is a common mantra now. 7 on 7 seen as a bad thing by some coaches (many are still helpful). I still believe throwing the ball can help you win big games.

I love how he says you have to be good at football first. Many coaches think lifting weights is automatically going to make you a better football player. There are specific skill sets required to be a good football player that frequently get neglected.

Inept athletic directors and administrators are a dime a dozen. IF you find yourself a good one, lock on as long as humanly possible to get things done for your community and your program.
