Had a wonderful evening with Prof. Sebastian K.L. Sebastian and family. Thanks to Mrs. Sebastian we had some really delicious Kerala food. Prof. Sebastian was my PhD supervisor and has been a mentor since. Rajarshi Chakrabarti
Done with teaching and grading our course with Rahul Maitra “Statistical Mechanics”. Now posting this picture with the enrolled students and TAs (not all are in the pic) taken after the last lecture. I enjoyed teaching. I hope students liked the course. Rajarshi Chakrabarti
Congratulations 🙌 ASHA CHOUDHURY for successfully defending her thesis work in the area of computational biophysical chemistry. Prof. Amalendu Chandra and Prof. Amber Jain were the examiners. Asha is the eight PhD from the group Rajarshi Chakrabarti
Congratulations 🙌 Rajiblochan Sahoo Rajiblochan Sahoo for successfully defending his thesis work in the area of active particle/ polymer dynamics. Rajib is the 9th PhD from the group Rajarshi Chakrabarti Chairperson: mithunmittir Examiners: Rahul Maitra srabanti chaudhury
Just attended a wonderful talk by Samrat Mukhopadhyay on single molecule biophysics of biological condensates IIT Bombay
Delighted to share the news: Sanaa Sharma who worked in Rajarshi Chakrabarti for her BS project on “active matter” will move to Cambridge University to work on “Quantum Architecture” in the Computer Science Dept. Congratulations 🥳 to Sanaa for this Quantum jump!!

My first visit to IIT Palakkad. Beautiful campus. Arrived yesterday. Looking forward to interact closely with the faculty and students. I will be talking on “active polymers in porous media” later today in the Physics Department.
It was great to interact with the Soft Matter Physics gang of IIT Palakkad and, talk on "active polymers in porous media" Bibhu Ranjan Sarangi Vishwas V and Manoj Gopalakrishnan.
Benjamin Widom, a giant in Physical Chemistry, is known for his work in Statistical Mechanics. Two chemists have received the Boltzmann Medal to date and he is one of them. This interview is interesting as Professor Widom sketches his career in science. ecommons.cornell.edu/items/5ffc28df…
Looking forward to this two-day meeting on non-equilibrium and active matter physics. This gives me a chance to visit my "alma mater" and catch up with Sumantra Sarkar and many more physicists (not on X!). sites.google.com/view/snap-iisc…
