(1/3) There are currently 6,871 individuals in the FODC area living with rare conditions. I had very informative meeting with representatives from the regional Rare Diseases Partnership. The discussion highlighted the challenges faced by those affected

(2/3) , particularly around obtaining a diagnosis. Even when a diagnosis is made and an action plan is developed, there is often no allocated budget to implement the necessary support. The Council is committed to exploring ways to better support everyone in our community.

(3/3) As part of this effort, we will be collating those key issues raised and will be advocating on their behalf to the Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) and The Department of Health.
