Super excited to publicly launch "All Day TA", a product Joshua Gans and I have been working on with our team over the last year. Short version: if you teach in spring, you will want to use this! It's the future of higher education. A short thread: 1/x

Around 4 percent of GDP was spent to mitigate deaths from Covid-19; AI's existential risk is arguably at least as large, from Chad Jones nber.org/papers/w33602

Fascinating! 2nd-gen growth models have expanding varieties dilute researchers-per-variety, which neutralizes scale effects from population growth. But then don't expand variety and growth accelerates! A key point that seems to have been overlooked.

RIP Stan. Stan was my mentor and my friend. He was an outstanding economist, an outstanding policy maker, but even more importantly, a great human being. Science, commitment, honesty, and humility at the service of humankind. piie.com/publications/p…

Many siloed groups are working to get the best outcomes from transformative AI, but none have all the knowledge or steering power to do it alone. We are all proverbial blind men, attending to only our own part of the elephant. The Curve is a 2.5-day tour of this enormous creature

why don’t we have more medicines? inventing medicines has grown less efficient, limited by our knowledge of biological targets for the 1st time, AI & genomics have the potential to make this knowledge abundant – one of the largest potential impacts of the intelligence age.
