Mrs. June Felix, a proud graduate of Howard University, has been an educator in DC for 43 years. During her time at CenterCityPCS Petworth, Mrs. Felix has taught grades K-2, and also served as an Assistant Principal and Principal. #TeacherAppreciationWeek #WeLoveDCTeachers
Karen Bowles has taught in both DCPS and charter schools for over 30 years, where she's focused on supporting students in special education. As the interventionist at CenterCityPCS Brightwood, she has been instrumental in supporting students' growth in early literacy skills.
Alfons Prince is a 7th/8th grade math teacher at CenterCityPCS Brightwood. A product of DC Public Schools and a Banneker alumnus, Mr. Prince works to make sure his students are prepared for high school and any opportunities that may come their way. #TeacherAppreciationWeek

Shaylysea Fisher, math teacher at CenterCityPCS, created daily videos during the pandemic of instruction to maximize time for math discourse and error analysis. She made space and time for all students to feel seen, heard and validated during that difficult time.
Samantha Novak, teacher at CenterCityPCS, teaches science through an inquiry-based lens, never giving lectures, allowing students to collect data & evidence to form conclusions and facilitates discussions based on their work, helping them to build scientific explanations.
