We had a great turn out at our last Friday LSI seminar with Ardem Patapoutian Patapoutian. Seeing students wanting a Nobel laureate's autograph on their lab coats was sweetly geeky. Thanks to the LSI trainees for helping organize.

10pm Saturday night - I officially just finished marking exams … now I don’t have any excuse for not reviewing an assigned manuscript and work on a team grant!

This is a super interesting paper looking at the relation between transcriptome and proteome for 1000 yeast strains. For about 50% of the genes there is a correlation between the levels of mRNA vs protein across the 1000 strains while this was not the case for the other 1/2

Cooking an egg without any heat - that was our pitch for 2024 Science Rendezvous to demonstrate how proteins aggregate and teach how to pipette to so many kids... thx to the BMB EDI committee for organizing and members of our lab for patiently demonstrating protein precipitation

Congratulations !!! Participating in the BMB Astell Award for EDI contributions is so exciting - each year we have the privilege to meet with awesome students (awardees and applicants) who have done so much for the community - this has been truly inspiring

That is a fun one - Ubiquitin is starting to be an old millesime but I am amazed how the field keeps producing so many great stories. Congrats on the paper did EMBO agreed to it because the 1991 Varshavsky’s paper was published in … EMBO 😉
