“HMS Boadicea taking the Vénus” The Vénus🇫🇷 would prove a major thorn in the side of the Allies. 18 September 1810, Vénus captured HMS Ceylon🇬🇧 Next day, 19 September, HMS Boadicea, HMS Otter & the brig HMS Staunch, captured the crippled Vénus & recapture HMS Ceylon.

18 September 1810, Vénus captured HMS Ceylon🇬🇧 

Next day, 19 September, HMS Boadicea, HMS Otter & the brig HMS Staunch, captured the crippled Vénus & recapture HMS Ceylon.

Requisitioned (30.08.39) minesweeping trawler HMT Alouette (FY 101) T/Lt. Richard Adams, RNR: Lost 19.09.42. Torpedoed & sunk by U-552 (Kptlt. Klaus Popp) about 7 nautical miles west of Sesimbra Portugal. 14 of the 44 crew were sadly lost.

Huge News! Ministry of Defence 🇬🇧 and Defence Equipment & Support have announced a contract award for 53 more Supacat Jackal vehicles. This order extends the fleet's capability and payload as the Jackals will be manufactured with extended modules, creating a 6x6 fleet of vehicles. supacat.com/media/news/202…

#OTD 19 Sep 1942 the Wichita was hit on starboard side by one G7e torpedo fired from U-516 and sank in less than one minute about 75 miles south of Barbados. Crew 50 (50 dead - no survivors). The oldest member of the crew was a 70 year old AB. #heroes uboat.net/allies/merchan…
