What an inspiring evening yesterday with Mary Robinson, @Trocaire, the Ceann Comhairle, and the International Women's Forum Ireland. Mary spoke about @ProjDandelion, a women-led global campaign for climate justice. 'When women lead, action follows.'

14,500 children have been reported killed in Gaza.
50,000 children are acutely malnourished.
Over 1 million children are in need of mental health and psychosocial support.

This situation is incomprehensible, and urgent action is needed.

A 14 year old boy has had limbs amputated after opening a tin of food that he found in his house in Khan Younis, after the withdrawal of the Israeli Defence Forces.

The tin of food was booby-trapped.

This is sickening.

Listen back to my interview this morning on Morning Ireland where I address Gaza's skyrocketing malnutrition rates, imminent famine, and barriers to aid delivery. Alleged war crimes must be addressed alongside the urgent need for a ceasefire and full humanitarian aid access.

Millions face starvation. Despite supposed changes, life for many in Gaza remains unchanged. Relentless bombings & shootings persist, making this one of the most dire humanitarian crises we have seen.
We need an immediate ceasefire & full access for humanitarian organisations now

This statement is very welcome.

As Palestinians face the utter devastation of Gaza on top of decades of brutal occupation, recognition of their right to a State is essential.

30 years ago today, the Genocide Against the Tutsi was unleashed in Rwanda. Thoughts are with the Rwandan people as we remember the tragic atrocities of the 100 days of devastation. Their resilience amidst tragedy reminds us of the enduring power of hope. 🕯️
