plucking the acanth
from her heart
she believed in the hope
he would heal her wounds
& with petals of trust
reflecting in her eyes
she rose up en pointe
& danced
the poetic pathway
into his waiting arms
reaching out
to believe in a love
that would set
her pirouetting soul
on fire
