Ideally, in order to get to know someone you would be building regular, short dates, carrying on with your fun life, whilst having dates in the diary.  An idea or plan for the next date helps with feeling more steady. #Dating #LoveCoach #Relationships #Flirting #DatingAdvice

Do you fancy looking at your reactive styles in relationships, and becoming aware of how you might be affecting yourself and others? I have made some images for you to explore.

Turtles may have grown up in a shut-down environment, or an environment where they were left alone, or were shamed for being themselves. Either way, they learned how to operate peacefully by not opening up.  It can be quite a journey for Turtles to learn to express themselves.

For Jellyfish, relationships can be painful. They may drop the emotional bombs, in vulnerable moments hoping one would contain it with a compassionate "Do you want a hug?" but it typically results in rejection, confirming their worst beliefs about mistrusting others.

Dolphins are securely attached. As a result they can be vulnerable and ask for their needs and their wants to be met, or meet them themselves. They are good at play and fun, making sure they fill up all of their resourcing pots.

For those of you that celebrate Christmas, try to slow down and speak face to face if you can. It can help to plan how you are going to hold yourself at this time.

What we say in therapy is, "it's not what you say, it's how you say it". If you connect with someone when you are feeling grateful for them, it can create some kindness and oxytocin, and this can literally help their ears to open.
