An amazing day yesterday sharing my story of postnatal depression and also the value of peer support. Thanks to Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub & NHS England for supporting the training of GP’s across the Midlands The turn out was phenomenal with over 200 GP’s and trainees attending!

We're proud that our general practice clinical placements have been put on the GMC website as an example of good undergraduate clinical teaching. Take a look here: tinyurl.com/3ppbsrwn

Grim, but alas unsurprising. Patient need in deprived areas is greater, but #generalpractice in the poorest areas of England is under-funded and under-doctored relative to the richest areas. Little wonder that access is harder, and people turn elsewhere health.org.uk/publications/r…

Strategies are completely pointless. They take up all our time & energy preparing them, presenting them to boards & management but they just don’t make a difference. It’s STORIES that really make a difference. Develop a compelling story of place, of community & of relationships.

This is appallingly shortsighted and will have serious implications on workforce welfare, retention, recruitment and morale. I normally try to apply Hanlon’s razor, but this is deeply concerning

One of my elderly care home residents sang for me and gave me a hug today…. and it might be one of my favourite career memories to date 🥰

Does anyone who what type of baby bird this is? Flew into my car when I opened the door and landed happily on my hand (flew straight back to the tree afterwards)

The first five years of general practice can be equally rewarding and challenging. Finishing your training is an exciting time but transitioning from trainee to GP can sometimes be difficult. Find support with our First5 C&W Network. More - buff.ly/3K0g019
