3/6 Yet Phase 5/6 has repeatedly heard reference to the failure of DBT to provide relevant information to the Inquiry, including ministerial diaries and industry meetings which relate to Post Office Horizon issues. This, from former Secretary of State, Sir Vince Cable:

4/6 And this, from former Secretary of State, Greg Clark. Documents are missing from as recently as June 2019, little more than a year before Scully gave his assurance that relevant information would be retained:

5/6 A FOI request of August 2020 was alive to the possibility of departmental records disappearing. BEIS gave no answer regarding its retention of records because it aggregated this FOI request with others & refused on grounds of cost:

6/6 Were relevant departmental documents lost or destroyed and if so, when? Given DBT’s commitment to full disclosure, what possible justification can it give to Sir Wyn for not locating and sharing complete records with the Inquiry?
