#OnThisDay 70 years ago, we lost Henrietta Lacks to #CervicalCancer, but her cells continue to enable medical breakthroughs that save countless lives. I look forward to welcoming the LacksFamily at World Health Organization (WHO) on 13 October to discuss her legacy & its significance for #HealthEquity.

I appreciate so many folks offering solidarity & reading what @andrewkarre & Buttered Jorts (fka kelly jensen) 🐱🐰 & others have to say about book bans. That, AND... Teachers, librarians, principals, students, school board members: they are the ones most in the crosshairs of this awful moment.
