Persons of the internet: I have for over a decade now asked people not to call me a skeptic, and somehow this seems to lay unattended like a soggy pancake. Of course, your subjective view of me is yours to keep, but if you're trying to repeat mine, pls know I hate that word.

I wish I could find the episode where she talked about this, cause I really think it's a great explanation of the problem with "professional" skepticism or contrarianism or rationalism as a worldview; you end up defining yourself definitionally based on negative polarization.
