A force for good in London politics. Sad to learn that Nicky has passed away. Always enjoyed working with her at City Hall in spite of being in different parties.

I had so much love and respect for Nicky when we worked together in the Assembly. She knew more than anyone about planning and was always so kind to everyone. And she was also a titan of Highgate community action too. Such sad news.

If you can only 'deliver the benefits' of a new tunnel that is supposed to reduce congestion & pollution by implementing a new charge that removes the *extra* cross-river traffic, congestion & pollution your tunnel actually delivers, maybe time to pause and re-think? Seb Dance

Exactly four years ago today, I tabled this crucial Bill for the first time. The #CANBill must now become the Climate & Nature Act. Help us make this a reality by asking your MP to prioritise the CAN Bill in this week’s private members’ bill ballot

🔴 Nearly three quarters of social housing blocks in England that were found to have "life-critical" cladding issues in the wake of Grenfell still haven't been fixed. It's seven years since Grenfell Tower burned down. ✍️ Anita Mureithi Hyphen hyphenonline.com/2024/09/03/thr…

The deliberate underfunding of our NHS over the last 14 years has pushed our NHS to breaking point. I will be doing what I can to push press the new Government to commit to solutions, which should not be sticking plasters which outsource services to the private sector.

National Trust members. Please remember to vote. It really matters. Institutions need public participation to keep them healthy and open and evolving to serve society.

Still reading through the Grenfell report but today is an important reminder of the racism so many Londoners encountered in the years, days, and minutes leading up to this tragedy, which in times of crisis can prove deadly. Grenfell's residents deserved better.

“The system isn’t broken it was built this way.” My love and respect to everyone who survived Grenfell and the relatives and friends of those who died for getting through this long seven years. I’ll keep pushing the Govt to fix the wider, systemic issues of power that led here.💚

Sian Berry (@sianberry) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Today in Parliament I asked the Prime Minister to help fix wider systemic gaps not covered by the Grenfell Inquiry recommendations, or the previous Govt, to give residents more power and rights to information about their safety. He promised to consider it, for which I thank him.

The length of time it has taken to get this far after the horrific disaster and lives lost at Grenfell is patently unjust. There has been disgraceful buck-passing and Government must act now to short circuit this and make sure people can go to bed at night knowing they are safe.

📢 🚽 The much delayed Toilet feasibility study is (allegedly!) right around the corner 🤞 I asked TfL Commissioner Andy Lord for the latest timeline, and seems like we're close everyone. Age UK London Inclusion London Transport for All Clare Delmar @LondonSoc

Thank you to Caroline Russell for submitting our petition to City Hall today. Even bigger thank you to everyone who signed it. Encouraging to know TfL are now aware of this dangerous junction but invite them to join me in croydon to do a tour of the all the dangerous junctions

If we’re serious about a public health, people-first & harm reduction approach, then police cannot remain default first responder to health calls late at night. Proud to pass a resolution today calling on the Mayor to support Hackney’s Night Medics’ programme across the city!
