Gboyega and I met in Jan 2020, at a reading in a weird, tiny jazz club. Our fee was whatever got taken at the door, so afterwards we each took our £5 and hit the pub. It was always a joy to see him - he was so funny, and so brilliant. This poem is one of my favourites by anyone.
