This is the kind of abuse our BBC Tech editor has received. Truly horrific. We all get sent abusive communications, but female colleagues get the worst of it — and it often takes the form of sexualised violent threats.

“Compared to the rest of the other regions in the UK, Northern Ireland hosts a very small percentage of people seeking sanctuary.” Very good from The Irish News - actually we should be welcoming more refugees and asylum seekers than we currently do.

Thousands of people on the streets of Belfast to say clearly that our city is anti-racist and anti-Fascist. My heart is full of pride to see so many people, from so many backgrounds joining together. Well done 👏

Approval this afternoon for a new South Wing at Inst including dining hall, 15 classrooms & drama suite. An important heritage building - designed by Sir John Soane - this new project preserves and enhanced our historic architecture for future generations. Well done to all.

Good that Paul Givan dropped the ‘shrine’ language on Stephen Nolan - that unhelpful term originated from his own party and became a major blockage. This site’s potential is obvious - the barrier has been Executive inertia. Discussions between Maze/Long Kesh & National Museums NI

This is really worth a listen - you get a sense from this what the professionals & experts actually running our public services are faced with when dealing with the inertia of some (not all to be fair) senior civil service and NI Executive Ministers.

What makes this so bizarre is that the Justice Minister never stops telling the Assembly that policing isn't her responsibility. So why is her Department telling the Chief Constable who he can and can't write to??

Colum Eastwood (@columeastwood) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We have a crisis in public service funding and instead of dealing with it, Executive Departments are starting fights over who sends letters to who? This is embarrassing, it looks so petty and we don’t have time for it. Ministers need to get a grip and get to work.

A legitimate concern - with chronically low house-building, high interest rates & poor availability of equity-share products, things are pricey enough for 1st time buyers without having to pay higher estate agent fees bc of any rise in online ad prices.

A welcome initiative from Paul Givan following Norma Foley T.D’s similar plans in the Republic. Jonathan Haidt’s highlighting of the dangers of mobile phones & social media for kids is having the desired impact. Can see the guidance we’ll have soon becoming law in the future.

There’s a FAKE Sam Maguire being the most bizarre story of the year now topped off by Headline of the Year from The Irish News - SHAM MAGUIRE 😂😂 Extra day off for whoever wrote that 👏🏻

My children are too young for mobile phones but the more you read and the more you reach the point where it seems anything beyond a brick phone for keeping in touch is no longer an option. A short sobering example below. ⬇️
