I've been very vocal about this through the years in various journalism board leadership roles. We're heading into conference season. We'll inevitably see panels about this very topic. But the panels are often the least attended by the very folks who need to hear this truth.

Today is the 110th birthday of Viola Ford Fletcher. She’s one of two remaining survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Her case for reparations from what happened is now in the hands of the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

Let's do investigative journalism, too. The ranks have not improved much in the decades we've seen newsrooms pledge to diversify their teams - despite the fact there are many talented journalists of color who are skilled.

There is no pipeline issue.
