10 years ago I met a disabled little boy in a respite children’s home in Leicester. Only it wasn’t a respite for him, it was his home and he’d lived there for 3 years. His foster mum who he’d lived from birth died suddenly when he was 3 and he never ate or drank again. 🧵

Interesting that PM is being investigated over a conflict of interest related to 1 of only 6 companies benefitting from recent childcare funding/policy. Also interesting, of the other 5 companies, Brett Wigdortz (Teach First founder) is founder/CEO of Tiney & Trustee of Rutland.

Hannah Kirkbride ECLCM Louise Tickle Sameer Iqbal Jess OT Absolutely it is. I also believe many children are detained not because of their ‘extreme risk’ to selves or others, but because they have been denied the correct support and therapy that they need. Are DOL’s now used as were asylums? Lock up and forget. ECLCM #ECLCM

It has also introduced uncertainty to the future of commissioning. This inevitably means providers will pause opening of provision until there is clarity, exasperating the already acute sufficiency crisis. I'm extremely worried about later this year and the impact of new regs

Yes but the increase is only recent due to Covid. Need to consider what it is spent on. Historically the U.K. compared to other countries in Europe (especially) those you cite, spent the lowest on social good. Due to this cumulatively we are in much worse shape in public services

For those in my network that are not aware or engaged in the substance or background to the invasion and attempt to destroy public education and social work, an important read here 👇
