Lovely rock from Solva for #TrilobiteTuesday crammed full of mostly Eodiscus with the occasional Solenopleura. Separate heads and tails suggest this was an accumulation of moulted exoskeletons

The (very cool) results of my PTY year which I spent at Amgueddfa Cymru | Museum Wales as part of my Cardiff University School of Biosciences BSc have just been published with Springer Nature in Scientific Reports. What a great project to be a part of and it is great to see the results finally published. Link in below tweet.

Just missing #WormWednesday, an interesting article in the The Guardian about marine bristle worms and their importance from Dr Ceri Lewis. They are amazing and wonderous animals and we are lucky to have two scientists Amgueddfa Cymru | Museum Wales who study them theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Impressive grasping appendage of Anomalocaris from the Burgess Shale. Originally the only part of the animal known, which led to its naming as an ‘odd shrimp’! #FossilFriday

These leaves from the Green River Formation of Utah look incredibly fresh, even though they came to rest on a lake bed 50 million years ago! #FossilFriday 🍂

Our new PTY student from Cardiff University School of Biosciences will be working on a new non-native bivalve to the UK with Anna. She is first getting some photographic skills under her belt with an enquiry on tiny Moerellinae species. Welcome to the world of molluscs, Sophie! #MolluscMonday
