Our search and rescue is complete. Our fire department, with the help of other first responders, checked every single building in the affected area for loss of life. We are so grateful for their tireless work.

Our city cannot shoulder this alone. The state of Missouri cannot shoulder this alone. We need partners at the federal level to step up and help. This is what the federal government is for. We saw a tremendous amount of damage — estimates suggest over $1 billion so far.

Important updates on building assessments: The City is focused on recovery and support, not punishment. That is why we are NOT condemning storm-damaged properties. ⬇️ 🧵

Help is on the way! I just received phone calls from Governor Mike Kehoe and Josh Hawley. I truly appreciate their strong support and President Donald J. Trump' declaration. Details of FEMA assistance will be announced as soon as they become available.
