Special thanks to Adam Feldman and David Gordon for speaking to me for this week’s column (which I had to primarily draft on my phone and am semi-afraid to read). Reader request series, not my idea, but I am actually learning stuff from it.

I am in my last full day in the South! I think I need to go on a sweet tea cleanse after this, which luckily will not be difficult.

Chris Durang. I just heard. Belatedly because of travel. And while I knew he was sick, still I am having trouble processing.

I’m on a plane to MO with pink glitter nail polish, pink glitter sneakers, a BroadwayWorld hoodie and a BroadwayWorld water bottle. So, yeah, I will fit right in… with children or Broadway super fans.

One of my favorite Debbie stories is that one day while she was practicing alone — after weeks of nonstop, grueling dance training for this film — she finally crawled under the piano and started to cry, convinced she would never be able to dance. Then suddenly, she heard a voice.

I love this. Please, if you can, go support new plays and see David Adjmi’s masterwork for premium price. BUT if you cannot afford that, see STEREOPHONIC for the price of standing room or lottery at other show. If you can afford 2 drinks, you can afford this — broadwayworld.com/article/STEREO…

The knowledge of the Cabaret Prologue—which I didn’t fully realize was 75 minutes—reminded me about how at Escape to Margaritaville journalists had their own private bar. Adam Feldman & I were the only people who liked it & I think it may have been dependent on bar experience.

Was Eva LaRue just super bored? I can’t imagine this gig is that lucrative, though I guess ever bit helps. I’m pro working. I just wish she had something to do that was a storyline a large portion of people cared about. Soap royalty.

I should say—I, like many people, are already busier than ever. So it isn’t our super busy time in terms of openings on Broadway, but, STILL. I do not want to have any more stories pitched to me for a bit.

We are not yet in the super busy time and I’m already tired. Critics, drink lots of water, get lots of sleep. Stimulants are your friends.

As I usually do, I'd like to point out the absolute genius of Walter Plunkett's costumes. His 20s costumes actually have to correct shapes for the period, as opposed to most 40s/50s movies set then (Good News, etc.)

One of the great stains on the “believe women” movement is that, in the face of more evidence than prosecutors in the US often have, people continued to doubt sexual assault. And I bet they still will.
